distal Fibula fracture advice

Hi,



I went to hospital last week and found out I have a fracture of fibula. I have been imn a back slab now for some days and really struggling, does anyone know what the treatment may be, I am terrified of being put in a cast as I am feeling very panic strivcken already at having this on let alone a full cast, are there any other options I could requested, really freaking no info have to wait untill Tuesday to see a doctor to be told anything.
